JAIL / DETENTION

The mission of the Gila County Jail Bureau is to provide for the secure detention of all individuals arrested, convicted, and sentenced for crimes within the jurisdiction of Gila County.

The Gila County Sheriff's Office Jail Bureau consists of the following departments:

  •   Booking 

  •   Inmate Accounts/Commissary 

  •   Classification 

  •   External Inmate Transportation 

  •   Food Services 

  •   Grievance Procedure and Due Process 

  •   Inmate Educational Programs 

  •   Laundry Services 

  •   Medical Services

Position Qualifications
Minimum education and/or experience:
•    High school diploma or GED
•    Must be a U.S. citizen
•    Must be eighteen (18)
 
Benefits
•    Medical benefits through Arizona Local Government Employee Benefit Trust (which utilizes the Blue Cross/Blue Shield network of providers).
•    Dental (There are two plans of dental coverage to choose from).
•    Vision (The County offers one vision plan with no deductible).
•     Corrections Officer Retirement Plan (CORP)
•    Annual leave accrual of 12 days a year for the first 3 years.
•    Sick leave is accrued at 12 days per year.
•    10 paid holidays per year
•    Single and Family medical

  • Uniforms and required equipment are supplied by the office along with a uniform maintenance allowance.
